Repent or Rebel

0

We have two choices when God almighty makes clear we are sinning against Him. When He chastens us. When He brings correction. When He brings conviction. When He shows us by His Holy Spirit, through His Word, through someone or some people He so chooses, in a dream, or vision, or in any other manner He desires, that we are caught in wrongdoing. We can repent or rebel.

We can humble ourselves, be truly sorry for sinning against God, and turn to Him and His ways. And make whatever changes and amends He reveals He wants us to make, going forward in godliness not in continued ungodliness. Or we can pridefully, foolishly, and dangerously  continue in our wrongdoing which is rebellion against the Lord God almighty and face whatever awful consequences lie ahead the worst one being grieving the Holy Spirit of God.

I used to call Jesus Christ Lord but continually rebel and continue in my ungodliness. God has blessedly transformed me and taught me to repent not rebel. We are not to deny God and continue in sin. We are to deny ungodliness and go forward in righteousness in the strength of Christ for the glory of Christ, Jesus Christ is Lord forever, and we are to live like He is! Not in rebellion! In humble obedience to God almighty! Amen!

Need to repent? Please don’t rebel. Repent! Humble yourself, seek God’s forgiveness, and go forth in holiness! Godliness! Righteousness! In what is pleasing and honoring and glorifying to God! Obey the Lord, friend, obey! Hallelujah, AMEN!

“For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men, teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in the present age, looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ,” Titus 2:11-13 NKJV

These next words were spoken by the prophet Ezekiel in the Old Testament, but the words to the people so long ago are just as vital and powerful for us today.

“”Therefore I will judge you, O house of Israel, every one according to his ways,” says the Lord GOD. “Repent, and turn from all your transgressions, so that iniquity will not be your ruin.” Ezekiel 18:30 NKJV

Let sin and rebellion against God not be our ruin. Let us be thankful for the Lord’s chastening, and let us repent! Turn, turn, turn to the Lord! Amen!

“And you have forgotten the exhortation which speaks to you as to sons: “MY SON, DO NOT DESPISE THE CHASTENING OF THE LORD, NOR BE DISCOURAGED WHEN YOU ARE REBUKED BY HIM; FOR WHOM THE LORD LOVES HE CHASTENS, AND SCOURGES EVERY SON WHOM HE RECEIVES.” If you endure chastening, God deals with you as with sons; for what son is there whom a father does not chasten? But if you are without chastening, of which all have become partakers, then you are illegitimate and not sons. Furthermore, we have had human fathers who corrected us, and we paid them respect. Shall we not much more readily be in subjection to the Father of spirits and live? For they indeed for a few days chastened us as seemed best to them, but He for our profit, that we may be partakers of His holiness. Now no chastening seems to be joyful for the present, but painful; nevertheless, afterward it yields the peaceable fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it.” Hebrews 12:5-11 NKJV
