Interrupted by God

“Father, I am in the middle of something!” I told the Lord emphatically in my heart.

I was exasperated to say the least! I was doing what I felt I should be doing, and I had clearly sensed He wanted me to go do something else! But that was besides the point, wasn’t it? God was interrupting me and my agenda! Swiftly the Lord led me to repentance!

When we turn from our sins, believe in Jesus Christ as Lord and in His death and resurrection, turning our lives over to God and His ways, receiving forgiveness and the promise of everlasting life and are filled with God’s Holy Spirit, WE BECOME CHILDREN AND SERVANTS OF GOD! We are saved from God’s wrath and eternity in hell and the lake of fire, and we are bought with the price of the blood Jesus Christ shed on the cross to pay our sin penalty. We enter into a relationship with God now and forever in heaven, and we now BELONG TO JESUS.

It is ARROGANT and PRIDEFUL and SELFISH and SELF-CENTERED to think that God is interrupting us when He calls us to do something for Him and for others. We are NOT to live for self. We are to live for CHRIST. I was WRONG and needed to repent and do what He  told me to do.

Our hearts and lives – our time and agendas included – should be devoted utterly to the Lord, to His ways, and to His will. With hearts filled with humility, love, joy, and thanksgiving! Amen!

“When pride comes, then comes shame; But with the humble is wisdom.” Proverbs 11:2
