Intimacy with Jesus

Some people love and crave relationships with others. They yearn for intimacy with people. They hunger and thirst for intensely close relationships. They want to know and be known deeply by another or others. I have always been this way. I love, love, love intimacy. But it never crossed my mind in all my years of chasing after men, and relationships with them, and friends, and friendships with them, and whole groups of people and strong bonds with them that the intimate and only perfectly satisfying relationship in our lives God created us to have above all else is with Him! And that when we have that, everything else no matter how wonderful it may be pales in comparison!

Now that I have an amazingly rich, vibrant, ever growing, ever deepening relationship with the Lord, and now that I spend time with Him daily alone in His presence loving and praising and worshiping Him, singing to Him, praying to Him and seeking Him, reading the Bible, hearing Him and responding to Him, pouring out my heart to Him, learning to trust and rest in Him, all of which to me is a part of learning to abide in Christ, I have come to see there is no greater, no more fulfilling, no more satisfying, no more rewarding intimacy we can have with anyone than the intimate relationship God desires for us to have with Him!

I could not be more thankful to God for my relationship with Him, and I want to encourage you to pursue the Lord and an ever growing relationship with Him and His will for your life more than you pursue anything or anyone else. And BE THANKFUL to God for God and for your relationship with Him, oh yes!

“I am my beloved’s, and my beloved is mine: he feedeth among the lilies.” Song of Solomon 6:3 KJV
