Some of us are clingers when it’s time to go. When it’s time to move forward. Time to move on. Time to let go. Time to move ahead. As the Lord leads us. Some of us cling to where we are, and to whom we’re with, and to anything, and anyone, because we’re so convinced we need to stay where we are, and keep doing what we’ve been doing, and keep being with whom we’ve been, for comfort, for security, for peace of mind, for satisfaction, for our flesh, because it seems easier, and less risky, to make ourselves happy, to avoid change, for any reason at all, instead of moving on to where the Lord is leading us, and to whom He is leading us, and to what He is leading us, and for what purpose He is leading us, and we find ourselves clinging to anything and anyone right where we are to hold on, to hold on, to hold on, so we don’t have to let go and move on.
Countless times in the Bible, people who loved the Lord, who honored the Lord, who revered the Lord, who obeyed the Lord, and who were loved and honored by God, who to this very day are examples to the world of men and women of great faith, of unfathomable faith, or endurance and perseverance, who were used by God in such mightily powerful ways that their labor for the Lord on this earth is still remembered today, and still bears significance today, and still is an example of following the Lord the right wayh, did one thing when the Lord told them to “arise and go”. They arose and went. Following the Lord. To where He was leading them. For His purpose. For His glory. No matter what emotionally they wanted to do, no matter what and whom they might have wanted to cling to, they clung to the Lord instead and went where He was calling them.
Is there something, or someone, you’re clinging to whereby you are gripping on so tight that you’re refusing to get up and go where you know the Lord is calling you? If you’re clear the Lord is telling you it’s time to walk forward, to go where He is sending you, release your grip on what and whom you’re clinging to and throw your arms around the Lord, cling to Him, grip onto Him, cleave to Him, and walk on. With Him. In Him. Through Him. And for Him! He will give you every ounce of strength and provision you need to arise and go where He is calling you. Walk on!
