Jesus Took the Wheel

0

I was in the pickup truck passenger seat years ago when my then husband who was driving was in a rage. I was petrified to begin with and though I was then well accustomed to his rages never in a million years would have imagined a massive truck would be headed straight for us in what would have been a head-on collision. I am totally serious when I tell you I saw the wheel turn our vehicle out of the way though I am absolutely positive my then husband did not turn the wheel himself. I know without a shadow of doubt that the Lord took that wheel and saved our lives.

When I have periodically over the years recalled that miracle, I have been so thankful to God for His protection. But what I failed to see until this very day believe it or not is I have another reason to be so exceedingly thankful for what the Lord did that day. He saved me so I could fulfill the purpose He has for me on this earth. To fulfill my life’s calling to help people to become and remain totally devoted followers of the Lord Jesus Christ. I was a broken pretty much hopeless mess in a devastatingly tough marriage all those years ago, but now all these years later by God’s love, grace, power, and mercy, I am behind my own vehicle on the road full-time for Jesus and ministry. I am so thankful that He protected us that day, AND I am so thankful He is enabling me day by day now to fulfill my ministry for Him! The purpose for which He saved me!

In writing this, I am led by the Holy Spirit to consider something I don’t believe I have ever thought about before. If we keep our hearts, ears, and eyes wide open to the Lord, I believe we can go to deeper and deeper levels of Thanksgiving and find more and more reasons to be thankful to the Lord and to express our Thanksgiving to Him with all our hearts!

“Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began,” 2 Timothy 1:9 KJV
