A VERY SPECIAL T-SHIRT: “Remember Love”………

“Jesus said to him, “‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets.”” Mt. 22:37-40………

“Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. He who does not love does not know God, for God is love. In this the love of God was manifested toward us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him. In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins. Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.” 1 John 4:7-11

“We love Him because He first loved us.” 1 John 4:19

In New York City, one sees it all. Anything goes. Everything goes. The city that is said to never sleep never stops being a sight to all at anytime of day or night. It’s honestly exhausting to walk the streets and deal with all the sights, smells, noises, traffic, police, tourists, students, cultures, bars, restaurants, animals, artistry, music, beliefs, begging, giving, stealing, you name it, New York City probably has it. But even with the endless array of everything, some things seem to stand out from the rest of it all. Like a very special t-shirt I saw one day.

“Remember love.” Two simple words. With such a powerful message. And it leads me to this question.

Why do we need to remember love? How could we ever forget? But we do, don’t we? Do you know God’s two greatest commands are to LOVE Him with ALL our hearts and to LOVE others as ourselves? But do we, or do we forget? Do we sometimes forget love? And where does love come from? God is love, and love comes from God. And the love we need to love God and to love others is borne of God. It comes through the Lord Jesus Christ.

So where do we begin? We admit we’re sinners. We turn from our sins. We believe Jesus is Lord who died to pay our sin penalty and was raised from the dead, and we commit our lives to God and His ways and learn to live for Him instead of for ourselves. And, in so doing, we learn to love the way God calls us to love.

When we love the Lord, we obey the Lord (John 14:23). When we obey the Lord, we love.

Know what we really need to do? Remember Jesus. And, in remembering Jesus, and in loving and honoring Jesus, we love Jesus and love others. We remember love.

Remember Jesus, friend. And remember love. And walk in His love. Live in His love. Love through His love. Live to love. Him. And others as yourself.

Please don’t forget.

Remember Jesus. “Remember love.”
