PARALYZED DOGGY’S TEMPER TANTRUMS – AND OURS
“Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.” 1 Thess. 5:16-18
“What would you do if you didn’t get what you wanted? Would you put up a fuss?” I asked paralyzed streets ministry doggy Mr. Simeon aloud. Yes, I talk to my dogs.
I hadn’t taken him on any walks in his wheelchair along with paralyzed doggy Miss Mercy in her wheelchair yet. He is a vocal dog. Very vocal. He talks. And has temper tantrums vocally – and by waving his front legs in the air and tossing his pillows around to make his point!
Yes, Mr. Simeon makes himself loud and clear when he doesn’t get his way. Sadly, so have I through the years when I don’t get my way with the Lord. The Lord tells us in the Bible we need to praise Him, to be thankful, to worship Him, not to complain, to trust Him, to believe in Him, and to ask for and to receive HIS wisdom. He knows what is best!
Mr. Simeon will likely throw his sweet little albeit sometimes a bit annoying but adorable temper tantrums for the rest of his life. I, on the other hand, and you, we need to learn to be thankful and to trust when we don’t get what we want from the Lord that He indeed knows what is best!
