“Continue earnestly in prayer, being vigilant in it with thanksgiving;…” Col. 4:2………..

“Change my prayer life,” I essentially prayed to the Lord one day.

Some time later that afternoon, this message came to mind. Are our prayers pleasing to the Lord? Have you ever thought about that?

Honestly, my prayers for years were all about me. Even when I prayed for others, I wanted them well so they would treat me better, so I wouldn’t lose them, because I would be happy if they were happy, etc.

Over time, my prayers changed. More and more, my prayers were about glorifying God. About His will. About people living to love and worship Him. And more and more my prayers were about loving others. About wanting them to know Jesus’ love for them, about wanting them to spend forever in heaven with Jesus, about them being healed so they wouldn’t suffer so greatly, about them being able to enjoy God’s presence, etc.

But now, even with such change, I want more. I want to be more pleasing to the Lord when I pray to Him. And I want to pray with greater faith, with deeper trust, with more confidence, with stronger endurance. I want to please Jesus, oh how I want to please the Lord, when I pray.

How about you, friend? Is your prayer life pleasing to God? Is there room for growth as there is with me? Then pray the Lord would help your prayer life to be pleasing to Him!
