Dear friend,

When the devil tries to destroy the lives of people who follow the Lord Jesus Christ, who truly have turned over their lives to Christ, who live to love and worship and serve Him now and forever, the devil doesn’t just try to destroy our lives so we can’t enjoy our time on this earth. He tries to destroy our ability to lovingly, humbly, joyfully, thankfully, passionately, faithfully, wholeheartedly, and steadfastly SERVE THE LORD JESUS CHRIST most especially in telling the world Jesus is the only way to everlasting life and in helping people to commit their lives to Christ and to follow Him!

The devil attacks us with the intention of trying to get us so down, disheartened, discouraged, depressed, downtrodden, distracted, etc. that we don’t seem to have or feel we have the strength and energy and ability and focus and heart to serve the Lord at all or that we do so without love, passion, excitement, great energy, and fervor.

The devil has NO ability to keep Christ’s followers from going to heaven after our lives on this earth are over because the promise of everlasting life is for those who turn from their sins and turn to Christ as Lord, but the devil can try to get us so messed up on this earth that we miss our amazing opportunity and blessing and privilege of loving – and serving – Jesus with ALL our hearts and lives!

We who follow Jesus must resist the devil in the strength of God, be faithful in humbling ourselves before God and following Him day by day, and passionately go forth in LOVING – and SERVING – Jesus forevermore!

Love in Jesus’ name,

Don’t Fight Me

“saying, “Father, if it is Your will, take this cup away from Me; nevertheless not My will, but Yours, be done.”” Luke 22:42

“Don’t fight me,” the Spirit of Christ spoke in His strong big voice. I know the Bible speaks of God’s “still small voice,” but to me the Spirit of God rarely sounds still and small. Instead, He sounds mighty and powerful!

I was walking down a New Jersey sidewalk on an especially grey cloudy day with rain threatening to burst forth, pulling the handlebar of paralyzed dog Mr. Simeon’s wheelchair as I walked. The weather was my perfect reminder of how much I would have given almost anything to NOT be in New Jersey and to NOT be seeking housing in New York City but instead to go somewhere for once that I – yes I – wanted to go!

But God took the fight right out of me. And, as I walked, He reminded me of Jesus before He went to the cross. Jesus knew where He was headed. He was about to take all of God’s wrath at all of humanity for all of our sins through all of time upon Himself along with the punishment we deserve of death, hell, and the lake of fire upon Himself so all who turn from our sins, believe in Christ as Lord, truly turning our lives over to God and His ways, are forgiven and given a forever relationship with God. Jesus could have said NO WAY and run from the cross. But when He prayed to God and said “nevertheless,” He chose not to fight God the Father’s will for Him. He chose instead to surrender. Out of love for God almighty. Out of love for humanity. Out of sacrifice. He laid down His life for all of mankind.

I knew I could fight God and go against His will. I knew I could run. And I knew I could do the opposite. I could surrender instead. And submit myself to God’s will, God’s plan for me, God’s timing for His plan, and live for God almighty and His glory instead of live for me and my self-fulfillment.

I knew what I would do. I know what I will do. In the strength of Jesus, in the love of Jesus, for the love of Jesus, by the mercy of God, by the grace of God, I will surrender. To God almighty. For Christ’s sake. For the one who died on the cross for us. I will surrender.

Will you? If you’re fighting God about something, stop fighting Him. Surrender to Him. To Jesus who died for you and was raised from the dead so you could turn to Him and receive an everlasting relationship with Christ as Lord.

Don’t fight God. Fight your flesh. Say no to the flesh. Surrender to Jesus. Say yes to Christ! Yes, Jesus, yes I will surrender, yes! Oh, Lord, have mercy upon us all. Give us the desire to surrender. And the strength to deny our flesh and to say yes to you, oh Lord. AMEN!

Blessing #50

“But Jesus went to the Mount of Olives.

Now early in the morning He came again into the temple, and all the people came to Him; and He sat down and taught them. Then the scribes and Pharisees brought to Him a woman caught in adultery. And when they had set her in the midst, they said to Him, “Teacher, this woman was caught in adultery, in the very act. Now Moses, in the law, commanded us that such should be stoned. But what do You say?” This they said, testing Him, that they might have something of which to accuse Him. But Jesus stooped down and wrote on the ground with His finger, as though He did not hear.

So when they continued asking Him, He raised Himself up and said to them, “He who is without sin among you, let him throw a stone at her first.” And again He stooped down and wrote on the ground. Then those who heard it, being convicted by their conscience, went out one by one, beginning with the oldest even to the last. And Jesus was left alone, and the woman standing in the midst. When Jesus had raised Himself up and saw no one but the woman, He said to her, “Woman, where are those accusers of yours? Has no one condemned you?”

She said, “No one, Lord.”

And Jesus said to her, “Neither do I condemn you; go and sin no more.”” John 8:1-11

The Lord Jesus Christ had every right according to the law to have the woman stoned to death when the people brought her to Him after catching her in the act of adultery. According to the law, she deserved death. Instead, Jesus gave her LOVE, GRACE, MERCY, COMPASSION, FORGIVENESS, and a FIRM WARNING she needed to not return to her sin. Then He used this to bring conviction to those judging her that they were sinners just as much as she was.

We are ALL sinners, friend, and we ALL deserve death, hell, and the lake of fire forever separate from God almighty. What an unfathomable blessing that the LOVE, GRACE, MERCY, COMPASSION, FORGIVENESS, and a FIRM WARNING that we must not go back to a lifestyle of sin are available from the Lord to ALL OF US who turn from our sins and believe He is Lord and died on the cross to pay our sin penalty and was raised from the dead whereby we truly turn our lives over to God and His ways.

When was the last time you were thankful for the Lord’s astounding love and mercy? Oh, what an amazing, amazing, amazing blessing! May we be thankful each and every day for God’s love and grace – and the promise of everlasting life for all who turn to Christ with repentance and in faith with a true commitment to follow Him now and forevermore!

“Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.” 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

I was going through a rough patch in my life, and most assuredly we all have our rough patches, some big rough patches, others little ones, but all rough patches just the same. Right in the midst of my rough patch, I sensed the Lord giving me these words. This message. CHOOSING THANKSGIVING.

God didn’t want me to stop being thankful when the rough patch started up. And He didn’t want me to start being thankful again when the rough patch ended. He wanted me to be thankful right in the midst of the rough patch. He wanted me to CHOOSE THANKSGIVING.

THANKSGIVING is a choice, you know. It really is. We can CHOOSE TO BE THANKFUL right in the thick of our storms and battles. Right in the midst of our rough patches. Right in the middle of our trials and tribulations. We can CHOOSE THANKSGIVING. To be thankful to Jesus that HE IS LORD FOREVER, that HE DIED ON THE CROSS AND WAS RAISED FROM THE DEAD so we can turn from our sins and put our faith in Him as Lord and be given forever life with Him.

We can be thankful God comforts us in our rough patches. We can be thankful for all of our blessings from food, shelter, and clothing to family and friends, to all the blessings God bestows upon us throughout our lives.

We can be thankful that we who follow Jesus are promised heaven where there will never ever be a rough patch. No tears, sickness, pain, death, violence, no darkness, nothing bad, not ever. We can be thankful that we who believe in Jesus as Lord have an intimate relationship with Him NOW and FOREVER.

We can be thankful for a sunny day, for a loving friend, for the smile of a child, for a sweet dog who snuggles up to us, for a job, for a good hot meal, for our next breath, for our health for those who are blessed with good health, for medical care for those who are struggling with sickness, for the telephone that allows us to be in touch with people we care about, for a yummy chocolate birthday cake, for laughter with friends, for the person who shared the Gospel with us, for a good Bible-believing church, and on and on – and on.

We can CHOOSE THANKSGIVING. I’m sad to say I have a long history of choosing complaining and negativity. Thanksgiving, despite my having a zillion reasons to be thankful, does not come naturally to me. But I can CHOOSE THANKSGIVING. I can CHOOSE to be THANKFUL TO THE LORD.

So can you, friend, yes you can. CHOOSE THANKSGIVING. Be THANKFUL TO GOD. Each and every day. Be THANKFUL for God the Father, Jesus the Son, for the Holy Spirit, for the Bible, and that through faith in Jesus and a life truly devoted to Jesus, you belong to Jesus forever!

I am thankful for you who are reading this message. May you remember each and every day to CHOOSE THANKSGIVING. Hallelujah, AMEN!

Serving the Lord with PRAYER!

“rejoicing in hope, patient in tribulation, continuing steadfastly in prayer;” Romans 12:12

When a friend prayed the Lord would send me believers in Jesus at the hotel where I was staying because she knew how restless, frustrated, and on my own I was feeling, I didn’t know if the Lord would answer, how He would answer, and how quickly He would answer. In less than 48 hours, I found myself holding hands with three people on the edge of the hotel parking lot from 17 hours away praying to the Lord. One was a preacher. Do you realize one of the most wonderful ways we can love and serve the Lord and others in our everyday lives is to PRAY FOR PEOPLE?

The Lord used my dear friend to pray for me on the telephone. Then He answered her prayer to send me some people to pray with me and for me. Oh, how blessed I was to be prayed for and to pray with others!

When I first started out on the road for Jesus full-time over two years ago, a man I met at a hotel who devoted his life to going around talking to people about Jesus and praying for them told me to never hold back from going up to people and praying for them when the Spirit of God led me to do so. He encouraged me to not even ask permission to pray. He said I should just PRAY!

Let the same be true for us all. Let us always be willing to pray whenever the Lord so leads us. Whether on the telephone, whether in person, whether alone, whether with others, whether with loved ones, whether at church, whether with co-workers, whether with strangers, whether in a doctor’s office, whether in a park, whether serving at a homeless shelters, wherever we are, whatever we’re doing, let’s always obey God when He leads us to pray!

Let us love one another. Let us serve one another. And oh, yes, let us pray in so doing!

Today I had the awesome privilege and blessing of being sent by the Lord into New York City from my New Jersey hotel to walk the perimeter of the area in which He has placed on my heart He has housing for me for the season in which I will do more streets ministry work in the city. I prayed and sought the Lord. I prayed with a friend, and she had the audacity to pray something I didn’t even want prayer for! I wanted her to pray God would show me where to find an apartment. She prayed instead He would give me ministry opportunities while I walked through the city.

Oh, what a blessing! I had numerous opportunities to pass out my Finding the Light Gospel tracts which include my personal story, including to many homeless people. And I was so very fortunate to be able to crouch down on the sidewalk and minister to several precious women who are currently living on the streets.

Oh, what joy I find in sharing the love of the Lord Jesus Christ and the Gospel message and praying for people and encouraging them as the Lord leads me through this life! I got to pray for a homeless man. And I had the wonderful blessing of praying for a cashier who needed some encouragement in talking to people about Jesus – right as He checked me out with plenty of people waiting to pay for their groceries!

I haven’t found an apartment yet, but I am so incredibly thankful that even as I search for where I will stay for my next season in New York City that the Lord is opening hearts and doors of opportunity to proclaim Christ to the world!

When I got back to New Jersey, I took my paralyzed doggies Mr. Simeon and Miss Mercy for their walk and was blessed to meet, talk with, and give Gospel tracts to two beautiful women who moved to the area from a country far away.

And just a couple of hours ago, I was blessed to write emails to a man in Kenya who wrote me and to a new friend in India who both are discussing with me whether it may be the Lord’s will for my tracts and devotional writing to be distributed in their respective countries.

Oh, how I love the Lord beyond measure! And oh, how I love, love, love the opportunity to tell the world about Him and to minster to people as He so leads me!

May my passion for Jesus and for sharing Him with this world in dire need of Him be contagious!

Please keep me prayed up along with all those near and far to whom I am so very blessed to minister!

In His love, by His grace,
