A sweet woman I’ve never met who reads my Good News Daily heard about some hurt I’ve been facing and decided to bless me. Her blessing is so very small in the grand scheme of things, but to me it’s an unimaginably big blessing. Why? Because more and more in this world, I’m seeing an overall lack of love, care, compassion, consideration, kindness, and giving including among many people who believe in the Lord Jesus Christ. All the way from the other side of the country, this precious woman of Christ lovingly and compassionately saw my hurt and felt compelled to love and bless me in a small but so incredibly sacrificial and caring way.
The Lord says those of us who come after Him need to deny ourselves, take up our crosses and follow Him, and I believe in this self-denial comes the desire and dedication to love and to give to others in the name of Jesus however the Spirit of God so leads us and no matter the cost to our flesh.
It is up to us to take the love, time, and care to do so. Are you and I doing this?
