FULFILLING OUR SERVICE TO JESUS!………
“And Barnabas and Saul returned from Jerusalem when they had fulfilled their ministry, and they also took with them John whose surname was Mark.” Acts 12:25………..
The word “ministry” in this verse according to Strong’s Greek concordance also means “service”, and I believe there is a beautiful lesson in this for all of us.
Barnabas and Saul did not return from Jerusalem until they had finished the service to which they had been called. The verse doesn’t say they came back early, or went somewhere else, because they got tired, had something else they would rather do, couldn’t handle the stress, got distracted with something else, weren’t in the mood for serving the Lord and people anymore, etc. They returned when they fulfilled that to which they had been called to do. Their service to Christ wasn’t about their flesh. It was about and for Jesus!
Let our service to Jesus in our everyday lives be about God’s calling, His equipping, His love and strength, for His glory, and may we be committed each and every day to fulfilling that to which the Lord calls us!
