Love. Honor. Praise. Glory. We tend to want this for ourselves, don’t we? The world teaches us to live for self. To seek, pursue, and obtain what brings us happiness, contentment, satisfaction, pleasure, etc. So when it comes to love, honor, praise, and glory, by nature we tend to want it for ourselves. To be loved. To be honored. To be praised. And to get glory for what we do in life and for good things that happen.
But the Lord Jesus Christ calls us to deny self, take up our crosses, and live for Him. We are to no longer live for self. We are to live for Jesus. And we are to strive daily to bring love, honor, praise, and glory to God not to ourselves!
Ironically, when we live for self, any pleasures we have are fleeting. But when we live for the Lord, and have a personal intimate forever relationship with Him, and are totally devoted to Him, and strive to bring Him love, honor, praise, and glory, we will find love, peace, hope, joy, and fulfillment in and through the Lord beyond measure – forever!
