As I reach almost 5 weeks of dealing with COVID which hit me hard and has had me mostly indoors holed up in my hotel room during my favorite season when I love to be outside and had hoped to be doing streets ministry in New York City, a beloved long-time friend continues to send me Bible verses about praising, thanking, blessing, rejoicing in, and singing to the Lord.
Meet Mrs. Praise. If I did not know better that she is on a mission sent by God and is doing this in love, I would be highly irritated, greatly offended, totally self-pitying, likely push her away or say something mean, and bitterly refuse to praise the Lord. After all, who wants to be told to PRAISE THE LORD when they are going through a hard time?
Praise the Lord! Jesus Christ is Lord forever! God deserves to be blessed, thanked, sung to, rejoiced in, and praised 24-7 forevermore!
And sometimes God will send us someone like Mrs. Praise to remind us to praise, praise, praise the Lord!
“The LORD is my strength and my shield; My heart trusted in Him, and I am helped; Therefore my heart greatly rejoices, And with my song I will praise Him.” Psalms 28:7 NKJV
“Praise the LORD! Oh, give thanks to the LORD, for He is good! For His mercy endures forever.” Psalms 106:1 NKJV
“Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, And into His courts with praise. Be thankful to Him, and bless His name. For the LORD is good; His mercy is everlasting, And His truth endures to all generations.” Psalms 100:4-5 NKJV
“To the end that my glory may sing praise to You and not be silent. O LORD my God, I will give thanks to You forever.” Psalms 30:12 NKJV
