Shortly after I started some physical therapy, the therapist made clear I needed to learn to have better posture and put my shoulders back. Would you believe DECADES ago my Mom used to take me clothes shopping and tell me in the dressing room to PUT MY SHOULDERS BACK? Stubborn, prideful, rebellious, lazy, and foolish, I refused. My mother was right.
May seem funny on the surface as we tend to joke about the rebellion of teenagers. But it’s actually tragic how throughout our lives no matter our ages we can be stubborn, prideful, rebellious, lazy, and foolish. We can be this way with God, and we can be this way with the people God uses to give us help, support, wisdom, and direction. It is all SIN we need to get rid of.
Some if not many of us need to get our acts together and repent and start humbling ourselves before God and others and live in obedience to God – and leave the sin behind. Amen!
