Need to STOP?

Right when I needed to stop on the road due to a traffic light not to mention the  numerous cars that had stopped in front of me, the Holy Spirit of God spoke strongly to my heart.

“Stop,” He told me strongly. “This doesn’t glorify me.”

God was not talking to me about needing to stop my car. I did not need that reminder. I needed this one.

I needed to STOP thinking about what I was thinking about. Because my thoughts did not glorify God. My thoughts did not honor Him. My thoughts did not please Him. My thoughts did not make God happy. In plain English, my thoughts were sinful. And I needed to STOP thinking those thoughts and turn back to God.

Examples of sinful thoughts. Pride, judgment, condemnation, negativity, fear, worry, doubt, anxiety, vengeance, anger, bitterness, refusing to forgive people, self-pity, jealousy, hatred, critical thoughts, sexually immoral thoughts, etc.

Please consider your thoughts. Do they please God? Or are they sinful? Do you need to repent? Do you need to purge from your mind certain thoughts and turn back to God?

Do you need to STOP and return to God and thoughts that glorify Him?

“”The heart is deceitful above all things, And desperately wicked; Who can know it? I, the LORD, search the heart, I test the mind, Even to give every man according to his ways, According to the fruit of his doings.” Jeremiah 17:9-10 NKJV

“If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” 1 John 1:9 NKJV

“Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things.” Philippians 4:8 NKJV
