No Time for God

0

I am shocked and heartbroken that it seems so many people make little or no time for God. And when they do make time for God, they seem to squeeze Him into and confine Him to little slots of time in calendar books and agendas like He is nothing but yet another thing to accomplish on one’s to-do list. I did this for a long time – until God set me straight!

God is to be our first love, our highest priority, our greatest desire, and He is Lord, King, Savior, healer, redeemer, master, and Father in heaven. Yet is it not true so very many of us simply stick Him into the “God” category and compartment of our lives like He better not get in the way of everything we have to do in life?

Maybe reading this grieves you as it grieves me writing it, and maybe God will use this message to encourage someone or perhaps even a whole bunch of people to consider all this. There should be nothing and nobody more important in our lives than God almighty, but do our hearts and lives reflect this? Or do we have our priorities out of order?

I have a habit of shoving things into the glove compartment of my car and forgetting about them for a really long time. Then, every once in a while, I open the little door and get a surprise at what I find inside. Is this what we do with God? And even for those of us who do think about God daily, can we honestly say He is our first love? Or, is He simply just a little part of each day before we move on to what and whom matters more and even most to us?

Oh, friend, may the Lord God almighty be our number one – now and forever. And, if upon reading this message you are brought under conviction by God’s Holy Spirit that you need to make some changes when it comes to the Lord, please don’t hesitate another moment.

If you don’t yet have a relationship with the Lord, humble yourself before the Lord, turn from your sins, believe in Jesus Christ as Lord and in His death and resurrection, turn to God and His ways, receive His forgiveness and forever life with Him, be indwelt by His Holy Spirit, and go forth each and every day and forevermore loving and serving and worshiping and glorifying God with every ounce of your heart, AMEN!

And, if you already have a relationship with the Lord but realize in reading this you have not truly made God your first love and highest priority, please repent immediately and make the commitment to magnify and exalt and love and live for the Lord above all else! Amen!

Oh, Father, help every single one who reads this message to fall head over heels in love with you! To love you with all their hearts and souls and minds and strength! To desire nothing and nobody more than they desire you! To make you their first love now and forever! Oh, God, draw my readers to yourself! Show them your love and your glory! Show them how you long for them to come into your fold! And how you desire for them to be in a forever love relationship with you as Lord! Give them a revelation and deep understanding of why you sent Jesus to die on the cross for them and to be raised from the dead! Give them a revelation, that you, Jesus, are God! That you are Lord! Oh, God, make the Bible real in their hearts and their lives! Oh, God, if they have had no time for you or little time for you, and if they have had higher priorities than you, show them this! Cause them to make all changes needed that you will be their number one love today and everlastingly, oh Lord, AMEN!
