I once wrote a devotional message called “The Weakest Woman in the World”. I was referring to myself of course. Sure there are probably lots of weak people around the world. But I am so incredibly, incredibly weak in so many ways. The wonderful news is God’s strength is perfected in what? Our weakness! I am so thrilled, and so over-the-top thankful to the Lord, for HIS STRENGTH which is such a huge, huge part of my life every single day. I believe with all my heart the best thing we can do, which goes against what the world teaches us, is to humble ourselves and confess our weakness and look to the Lord for His strength. And to not take credit for the strength in us but to GIVE THE LORD THE GLORY for HIS STRENGTH.
I absolutely love how the apostle Paul writes of “boasting” in his weaknesses. The world sure doesn’t teach us to do that, does it? We’re taught to hide our weaknesses and to pretend to be strong, aren’t we? Well, I am inspired by Paul and have no trouble now telling the world, I AM WEAK. Oh, God is so infinitely strong! Praise the Lord for HIS STRENGTH.
Here are some verses I believe will encourage you! Thank the Lord for His strength! Glory be to God! I encourage you to study the word “strength” in the Bible. I find such hope and strength in the Bible – including in the many verses about strength!
“And lest I should be exalted above measure through the abundance of the revelations, there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, the messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I should be exalted above measure. For this thing I besought the Lord thrice, that it might depart from me. And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory [also “boast” per Strong’s concordance]in my infirmities [also “weakness” per Strong’s concordance], that the power of Christ may rest upon me.” 2 Corinthians 12:7-9 KJV
“Seek the LORD, and his strength: seek his face evermore.” Psalms 105:4 KJV
