“Please stop whining!” I exclaimed to my handicapped ministry dog Gracie.
The Holy Spirit used her whining to bring something to my attention – and to give me this message for those reading it.
Gracie rarely whines, but there is someone who has whined far too much through the years and who can easily fall into it if she is not careful. Me.
I have been prone to negativity, complaining, self-pity, a bad attitude, being critical, and whining since I was a kid. And this is all SIN against God.
Friend, you and I need to strive not to fall into this sin. And when we find we have fallen into it, we need to repent.
When the Lord shows us sin, we are not to stay in it. We are to turn from it, seek and receive His forgiveness, and move forward following Jesus with love, peace, hope, joy, and thanksgiving in our hearts, out of our mouths, and in our actions – not whining and a slew of other sins!
Father, forgive those of us who are prone to this. Refine us! Help us to do right and not wrong! Bring correction when we need it. Help us to go forth according to your ways – free of all whining. Free to glorify you ever more, AMEN!
