Know what I bet the devil loves? Cowards! People who cower! People he can intimidate! People he can convince that they can’t serve God, shouldn’t serve God, that they’ll fail in serving God, etc.! People who crawl under the covers of their beds and hide from the life God has planned for them! People who cower when facing obstacles and become paralyzed with fear instead of trusting in God and finding victory in Him! People who fall for the devil’s lies and get stuck in fear and worry and can’t find their way out of it because they’re focused on the devil and his antics instead of on God and His Word! Friend, I spent decades being a coward and was paralyzed by fear and all sorts of brokenness.
But now by God’s grace alone I am on the road for Jesus full-time with my beloved handicapped ministry doggies with an ever-growing international ministry for Christ doing what to me is totally impossible in the flesh. I am courageous. I am bold. I am strong. IN THE LORD. THROUGH THE LORD. FOR THE LORD. I face fear and worry every single day. In my humanness, my life in and for Christ seems impossible.
But I choose to be courageous instead of to be a coward any longer. I put my trust in the Lord day by day and seek and receive His love, strength, grace, mercy, hope, joy, power, and provision to leave cowardice behind. I find my strength, courage, and boldness in Christ and in a deeply intimate, deeply committed relationship with Him. I find my strength in spending much time alone with Him in prayer, in studying His Word, and in hearing and obeying Him. I find my strength in His Holy Spirit. He gives me His strength and He makes me courageous. For Him!
Don’t be a coward! Live the life God has called you to live! In His presence and His Word and by His Spirit, you will find all you need. Courage and boldness included! And seek and receive and be blessed by the loving prayer and support and encouragement of His followers!
Be courageous! For Christ’s sake! AMEN!
