Day #1 of my Big Thanksgiving Challenge – excerpted from my 100 Days of Thanksgiving Devotional-Journal which you can order when you CLICK HERE.
My beloved parents raised my younger brother and I to have good manners including to say please and thank you, but the big problem was that my family didn’t believe in God. We learned how to thank our parents and to thank others, but we didn’t learn to thank the Lord for His indescribably amazing goodness. Sadly even when I came to believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, it took me a very long time to realize the most important “manners” are our “manners” with – and most of all our love for and obedience to – God. We should be continually thankful to God, and Thanksgiving to Him should be a part of the very fabric of our hearts and lives! I am convicted even writing this. I have so much growing to do! How about you?
“Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name. For the LORD is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations.” Psalms 100:4-5 KJV
