Thankful to Whom?

It’s so important in loving others to express our thankfulness to them for their love, kindness, sacrifices, caring, sharing, giving, generosity, etc., but there is no one to whom we should express our Thanksgiving more than the Lord who is the true source of everything good in our lives and on this earth.

Is it not true, though, that we can fall short in thanking God? That we can find ourselves taking Him and His goodness for granted? That we can be so focused on asking that we forget to thank Him for giving? That we can be so busy that we can rush forward in our lives forgetting to thank and praise Him? That we can be like kids on Christmas day tearing through their presents and rushing off to play with them with never a thought of saying thank you for them? Oh, let us take the time each and every day to thank the Lord, to praise and bless His name, to tell Him and show Him how thankful we are!

“Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.” James 1:17
