Praying with Thanksgiving

Something I find totally wild when it comes to praying is how God calls us to pray of all things WITH THANKSGIVING. Doesn’t it seem strange to you that God wants us to pray WITH THANKSGIVING when we don’t even know if He will answer our prayers the way we want Him to answer them? Why, and how, can we pray like this? I personally believe the “why” is simple. We should do what God tells us in the Bible to do. What about the “how”? I believe when we put our trust in Him, and remind ourselves that God always knows what is best, we can thank Him in advance of answering our prayers. We can thank Him for His will in the matter we are praying about as well as in all matters! I still have such a long way to go in trusting the Lord, and I tend to forget to thank the Lord when I pray to Him. May this message be a reminder to us all!

“Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:6-7 KJV

“Continue in prayer, and watch [also “keep awake” or “be vigilant” per Strong’s concordance]in the same with thanksgiving;” Colossians 4:2 KJV
