The title of this message may sound ridiculous, or hilarious, or foolish, but rest assured I have a powerful message to share with you. Just minutes ago, I was crying out to the Lord yet again about where He wants me to go next in my life on the road for Jesus and ministry with my special needs ministry dogs. In my nearly five years on the road for Him, I have had no permanent residence. Not at all easy in this day and age, with evil abounding, given my personal tough history, and considering I am a middle-aged woman on the road alone with Jesus and my dogs. Obviously the Lord would hurry in response to my cries to tell me His will so I would know the future and not have to be afraid, feel unsettled, be uncomfortable, be anxious, etc., right? Wrong!
“Go feed your dogs,” the Holy Spirit spoke to my heart.
The powerful message? God hears His children’s cries, His will is perfect, He will answer in His perfect timing, we are to put our trust in Him, and He will order our steps as we faithfully follow Him. And as we wait for Him to reveal His will for us with the seemingly really big things, we should humbly, lovingly, reverently follow Him step by step even down to the very smallest of steps as His Holy Spirit leads us down the pathway He sets before us.
I wanted to know my next location so I could have a sense of security and start getting ready to go when it was time. God wanted me to continue to learn to live by faith in Him instead – and go feed my dogs!
Needing a deeper trust in the Lord? I do! And I have asked Him to help me have just that!
