Countless people pray for God’s will for their lives. We should. But praying for God’s will is not enough. Once we are clear God has revealed to us what His will is, we need to do it. But sadly sometimes we fight God because we are not happy with His plans for us. We rebel against Him because we believe His will is too hard, unfair, uncomfortable, too risky, will make us feel insecure, goes against our own wishes, ways, and wants, is too challenging, will take too much of our time, will make us look foolish in the eyes of others, etc.
Whatever our reasons, sometimes we pridefully, wrongly, sinfully, and foolishly fight God. We feel anger toward Him, we are bitter in our hearts, we are resentful, we turn away from the Lord Jesus Christ in our hearts, or we continue to turn to the Lord and in this one area of our lives we resist Him, we argue and debate, we say no way, and we refuse to do God’s will.
Friend, if you are fighting God, cease and desist. Stop fighting Him. Humble yourself before God almighty and surrender all to Him. Say no to your flesh and yes to the Lord Jesus. Lovingly, reverently, devotedly do the will of God no matter the cost to your flesh. Obey God now and forever, AMEN!
“Then He said to them all, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me. For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will save it.” Luke 9:23-24 NKJV
“Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up.” James 4:10 NKJV
