Blessings, blessings, blessings. Who doesn’t love blessings? I sure love blessings, don’t you? Isn’t it wonderful when we receive blessing after blessing from God? But this message isn’t about blessings. It is a warning about blessings!
If we are honest with ourselves, sometimes we end up loving God’s blessings more than we love God Himself. Sometimes we end up worshiping and glorifying our blessings instead of worshiping and glorifying God. Sometimes we seek blessings from God more than we seek God. Sometimes we go to God just to get blessings from Him instead of to experience and enjoy a personal relationship with Him. Sometimes we make a god out of our blessings instead of magnifying and exalting the Lord as God.
In short, sometimes blessings become our first love and greatest priority when in fact the Lord Jesus Christ is to be our first love and highest priority in life.
Let us enjoy and thank and praise God for our blessings, but let our blessings never be more important to us than the Lord! Hallelujah!
“Oh, magnify the LORD with me, And let us exalt His name together.” Psalms 34:3 NKJV
