Remember the lepers in the Bible who were healed? Do you remember how many lepers there were? Do you remember how many lepers were healed by Jesus? Do you remember how many praised God for their healing? Which of the lepers are you? There were 10 lepers. When they followed the directions of Jesus, they were cleansed. Only one took the time and love to turn around and fall down on his face praising the Lord. What about you?
As the world endures increasing hardship, as families and nations are challenged with trials and tribulations like never before, I cannot think of a more tempting time to take my eyes off the Lord, fix my stare on the horrors on the evening news, and forget the glory of the Lord. But this temptation can be overcome with a renewed commitment on the part of believers to shout to the world – there is victory in Christ Jesus!
Did you notice the lepers were cleansed as soon as they followed the directions of Jesus and journeyed to show themselves to the priests? But how many of the 10 lepers were made whole, rather than simply cleansed? The one that fell at the feet of Jesus, worshipping Him, thanking Him, giving Him the honor He was due, this one was not only cleansed. He was made whole.
The Lord is good – all the time. And I cannot think of a better time than right now for us to choose to be the one – the one Body of Christ – who bows down before the Lord to say, Thank You.
There is a new word all over the mainstream media right now as reporters cover the earthquake in Haiti and its aftershocks. If you open your heart, you will see there is a greater aftershock than all the physical ones. People are praying – all around the world. And, even in Haiti, people whose lives have been devastated, they are reported by mainstream media as praying and praising God.
I have a simple, easy, and blessed life. And I also have a responsibility – to thank my God, and to tell the world. The Lord has cleansed me, and the Lord makes me whole.
Praise the Lord! Praise the Lord! Praise the Lord!
Make the decision to be the one who turns around and falls at the feet of Jesus. Let us worship our Savior. Let us tell the world, He reigns!
“And as He entered into a certain village, there met Him 10 lepers, which stood afar off. And they lifted up their voices, and said, “Jesus, Master, have mercy on us”. And when He saw them, He said unto them, Go show yourselves unto the priests. And it came to pass, that, as they went, they were cleansed.
And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, and with a loud voice glorified God,
And fell down on his face at his feet, giving him thanks: and he was a Samaritan.
And Jesus answering said, Were there not 10 cleansed? But where are the nine?
There are not found that returned to give glory to God save this stranger. And He said unto him, Arise, go thy way: thy faith hath made thee whole. (Luke 17: 13-18 KJV).”
