“Sit down and forgive all these people and move on,” the Lord just told me.
So I sat down. And here I am. And I choose with the love and strength of God almighty in obedience to God for the glory of God to forgive all those I need to forgive.
This world is worsening. I have never seen so much of a lack of love, kindness, care, compassion, honesty, goodness, etc. And somehow time and again I seem to bear the brunt of others’ wrongdoing. Most of the time, it seems, they don’t say they’re sorry. They don’t change their ways. They make no acknowledgment of what they have done that is hurtful, unkind, etc.
So this gives me the perfect excuse to walk around hurt, grumpy, upset, irritated, bitter, angry, vengeful with the absolute refusal to love and forgive them, right? WRONG!
God commands us to love. He commands us to forgive. And, in obedience to Him, no matter how we feel or what we think or what others have done or not done or said or not said, we have the responsibility to humble ourselves before God and choose to forgive those we need to forgive.
I needed to sit down and forgive. I needed to sit down and write this. Why did I need to sit down? I think we have a tendency to hurry forward with our lives tending to neglect to do some of the very most important things in life we are called by God to do. Like love. Like forgive. Before we move on.
Dear God, please help me forgive any and all I need to forgive! Please, God, would you send this message to all who need to read it and heed this message? Please, God, give them the desire to obey you, and the love, strength, mercy, grace, and all they need to forgive all they need to forgive. Please, God, in a world so lacking love right now, so lacking people living sold out to you, please God bring people worldwide to repentance, to faith in you, dear Jesus, to their lives being totally sold out to you, oh Lord. Thank you for hearing my heart’s cry, dear Lord, AMEN!
“”And whenever you stand praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive him, that your Father in heaven may also forgive you your trespasses. But if you do not forgive, neither will your Father in heaven forgive your trespasses.”” Mark 11:25-26 NKJV
