The Lord told me one day by His Holy Spirit to stop running away. I knew exactly what He was speaking to my heart about. An old pattern. A bad pattern. A fleshly pattern. An I’m-uncomfortable-so-I’m-going-to-run-from-this pattern. Now He was telling me essentially ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. Time to stop running away. Time to stay and obey. But lest you think I’m going to share more details with you, I am not. Why? Because I am compelled to share this message with you not for me but for you. Do you have a similar pattern in your life? Something or someone you’ve kept running away from? Maybe even God Himself? Or God’s will in a certain matter? Is God using my little testimony to speak to your heart?
One of the most vital lessons I have ever learned is that intellectual belief in Jesus Christ is NOT ENOUGH. We are to turn from our sins, believe in Him as Lord and in His death and resurrection, and TURN TO GOD AND HIS WAYS. This is how we receive Jesus as Lord and God’s forgiveness and the promise of forever life with God and the indwelling of His Holy Spirit. Now what?
We are to live a life of denying self, taking up our little crosses, and FOLLOWING JESUS. We are to live NOT FOR OURSELVES ANYMORE but to LIVE FOR GOD (2 Cor. 5:15). And when God tells us to do something, we are to do it. When He tells us NOT to do something, we are NOT to do it. He will give us the strength by His Holy Spirit who lives in His followers to obey.
Is God telling you to STOP RUNNING AWAY? Please PRAY – and OBEY. And just as I am, learn to STAY. IN HIS WILL. Where He wants us, with whom He wants us, doing what He wants us doing, FOR HIS GLORY.
Time to stop running away? RUN TO THE LORD! Amen!
“Then He said to them all, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me. For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will save it.” Luke 9:23-24 NKJV
