Stop Thinking About This!

0

If you think I am about to tell you to stop thinking about something in particular, I am not. But I do have a very strong message for you, and God placed it on my heart for you through this.

“Stop thinking about this,” the Holy Spirit essentially spoke to my heart.

Lovingly, albeit firmly, He led me to repentance. I turned my attention away from those thoughts and to Him and went on with my day.

Friend, God makes clear in the Bible what He does want us to think about and what He does not want us to think about. He also speaks to our hearts by His Holy Spirit instructing us on what pleases Him and what does not. He gives us wisdom and discernment regarding our own personal thoughts and what honors and dishonors Him.

Do your thoughts please and honor God? Do they bring Him love, joy, and pleasure? Do they glorify God? Do they make Him happy? Or are you hurting the heart of God almighty with what you think about?

Worry, anxiety, self-pity, self-centeredness, complaining, jealousy, bitterness, selfish ambitions, anger, hatred, prejudice, criticism, pride, judgment, condemnation, sexually immoral thoughts, vengeance, etc. GRIEVE GOD. This is all SIN AGAINST GOD. This all needs to be gotten rid of. Purged. Repented of. Replaced with thoughts that please the Lord Jesus Christ.

What kind of thoughts please Jesus? Cry out to God and ask Him if your thoughts please Him, repent if they do not. Ask God to teach you to have thoughts that honor Him. Read the Bible and learn what pleases and does not please God. Focus on Jesus, live for Jesus, honor the Lord, and think thoughts that make God smile! Amen!

If God has already, is now, or in the future makes clear something you are thinking about does not make Him happy, PLEASE STOP THINKING ABOUT IT – and turn, turn, turn to the Lord. And may your heart and mind and mouth and life be filled with that which brings love, honor, pleasure, joy, praise, and glory to the Lord! Amen, Hallelujah, AMEN!

“Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things.” Philippians 4:8 NKJV

“May my meditation be sweet to Him; I will be glad in the LORD.” Psalms 104:34 NKJV

“Search me, O God, and know my heart; Try me, and know my anxieties; And see if there is any wicked way in me, And lead me in the way everlasting.” Psalms 139:23-24 NKJV

“My heart is steadfast, O God, my heart is steadfast; I will sing and give praise.” Psalms 57:7 NKJV

“For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, and being ready to punish all disobedience when your obedience is fulfilled.” 2 Corinthians 10:3-6 NKJV
