Thanksgiving with Others

I wonder if God ever gets tired of Thanksgiving. Surely not. He is worthy of praise, honor, glory, and Thanksgiving forever and ever. So may we be people of Thanksgiving, and may we not miss opportunities to thank the Lord nor miss the various ways in which we can offer Him thanks. Thanking God when we’re on our own is so very vital, but then so is thanking the Lord in the company of others. God makes clear we who follow Him should not forsake assembling together, and is this not a perfect opportunity to join together in Thanksgiving? Oh, yes!

I confess to you so many times I have attended church services and joined in singing to and praising God as more of a religious activity than an amazing opportunity to thank the Lord with all my heart. I am here to encourage you and to encourage myself to see coming together with other believers in Jesus whether in formal ways like in a church service or in more personal informal ways like standing on a street corner or going out for a cup of coffee or talking and praying together on the telephone as opportunities to thank the Lord as His children, as fellow followers, as people dedicated to giving God the praise, honor, glory, and Thanksgiving He is due!

“Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.” Hebrews 10:25 KJV

“I will give thee thanks in the great congregation: I will praise thee among much people.” Psalms 35:18 KJV
