The Enemy’s Lies

The Enemy’s Lies

“Do not believe the lie of the enemy that you cannot do what I have called you to do,” the Holy Spirit who lives inside Christ’s followers spoke to my heart.

Just what I needed to hear. I had fallen once again into the devil’s trap by believing his lie that I would probably not be able to do something really big the Lord has called me to do in my ministry work. Now it’s one thing when the Lord makes clear HE doesn’t want us to do something we think we should do in loving and serving Him. But it’s another thing altogether when the Lord has made clear His will for us and we don’t believe we’re capable of that to which He has called us.

Oh, how the devil would love to convince us not to follow Jesus. How he would love to convince us we can’t possibly complete what the Lord gives us to do. How he would love to convince us we shouldn’t even start in the direction of God’s will. How he would love to convince us we can’t possibly complete God’s will if we’ve already gotten started down His pathway and that we should just go ahead and quit. The devil oftentimes uses lies to snare us. To bait us. To trap us. To get God’s followers off track with God. To get His followers to flat out give up.

Consider how the devil is described in the Bible:

“He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.” John 8:44

Also this:

“The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.” John 10:10

Here is the truth, friend. We absolutely CAN do anything and everything to which the Lord calls us when we abide in His love, His will, His strength, His power, His resources, His wisdom, His hope, His joy, His peace, His promises, His Spirit, His Word – for His glory!

Be encouraged with this well known verse:

“I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.” Philippians 4:13

Please don’t believe the enemy’s lies. Believe God’s truth as He reveals it to you in the Bible and as He speaks to your heart personally by His Holy Spirit which He will only and always do in line with the Bible.

And please consider this:

“Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.” Ephesians 6:10

I can’t encourage you enough to spend time in the Lord’s presence each and every day crying out to Him, praying, seeking Him, reading the Bible, listening for His Holy Spirit speaking to your heart, praising, adoring, honoring, worshiping, and obeying Him – all for the glory of Christ, AMEN! In the Lord Jesus Christ and in the Bible and in His Holy Spirit you will find all you need to know His will for your life and to fulfill it. All for the glory of the Lord, oh yes!

Hallelujah, yes!
