Isn’t it something how we humans scramble around our lives looking for love only to discover that whether we find love from humans in “all the right places” or in “all the wrong places” we eventually realize no human love is ever perfect and ever fully satisfies and is ever permanent? Why? We humans are sinners, and no matter how we strive to love, we always fall short. A loved one hurts us, breaks our hearts, rejects us, is too busy for us, is distracted, dies, goes away for a while, has trouble expressing his or her love, lets us down, etc. But there is a love like none other. A perfect love. The perfect love of God through the Lord Jesus Christ.
We were created to be loved by God, to love God with all our hearts, and to love one another. God created humans to be in forever fellowship with Himself, but we instead are separated from God by our sins because we can’t be in His presence because He is perfectly holy and righteous and can’t look upon our sin. Instead of being destined for forever with God, we are destined for forever apart from Him. Instead of now and forever with Him in heaven, we are headed for forever apart from Him in hell and the lake of fire. But God in His amazing love for us came up with a plan to redeem us and restore us to Himself so we wouldn’t have to suffer His wrath and condemnation and eternal torment. A plan to save us from our sins and the punishment of forever separation from Him so we can be with Him for eternity instead.
He sent His precious Son Jesus Christ to the earth as a perfect man and to the cross to take God’s wrath at us and our punishment for our sins upon Himself so all who will seek His forgiveness and turn from their sins to God and His ways, placing their trust in Christ as Lord, believing He died for them and was raised from the dead, truly committing their lives to Christ, are forgiven and promised forever with God. Oh what love! What gloriously phenomenal love!
We can spend our whole lives looking for love on this earth, but no love we find from humans will ever be the perfect, satisfying, amazing, beautiful, precious, and holy love of the Lord God almighty who sacrificed Jesus for us and of Jesus who sacrificed His life for us. Jesus Christ is God who came to this earth in the flesh to show and offer us a love beyond comprehension.
There is no greater blessing in the universe than the Lord and His offer of salvation so all who repent and turn to Him forever will be in relationship with Him as Lord everlastingly.
The verses above are just a precious few of God’s glorious Word, which from start to finish reveals the infinitely awesome love of His most beloved forever name! Oh, to know such love! To experience such love! To enjoy such love! No greater blessing than the Lord & His love!
