The Love of My Life
“I want to give you everything,” I told the Lord. “I don’t want to hold anything back from you.” That was my simple prayer.
Then tears. I spoke the words in my heart to my precious Jesus. My beloved Lord. I have always been emotional, sensitive, passionate, intense, and have had such an extreme zeal for the people and things I have loved on this earth. But nothing compares when it comes to love than the ever-growing, rich, vibrant, fiery love I have for the Lord Jesus Christ.
Jesus tears. Tears of love. Tears of joy. Tears of thanksgiving. Tears of awe at the majesty and glory and phenomenal-ness of the Lord I know more day by day and grow closer and closer to and am more and more humbled by as I keep the commitment I made long ago to spend time alone with Him and the Bible each and every day as my very highest priority.
So this great love of mine, this love for Jesus, this love that is so enormous it pours out of me onto the world around me, it makes me want to give everything I am and all that I have to the Lord no matter the cost to my flesh. No matter how hard, no matter how much it hurts, no matter the loss to my personal desires and dreams, I want the Lord to have absolutely all of me.
It can be hard, so very hard, to deny my flesh, to die to self, to say no to my self-centered thoughts, ideas, wishes, and wants and yes, yes, yes to the Lord and His ways, yet my love for Him is so exceeding that I feel a continual need and have a steadfast yearning to express my love to Him and for Him. Surrender and obedience are no longer simply an obligation in my estimate. They have become an expression of love, love, love for the Lord! This love I have, it makes me want to give Him my all and all. I want to love and serve and worship Him with all of my heart.
I have so tasted the love, mercy, kindness, graciousness, forgiveness, peace, hope, joy, passion, fellowship, promises, beauty, and magnificence of the Lord and having an intimate personal forever relationship with Him that I want more and more of the Lord, more fellowship with Him, more closeness to Him, more being refined by Him, more purifying myself for Him, and more surrender to Him as a manifestation of this love.
There is no love relationship on this earth like the one between the Lord’s children and the Lord. And I want to encourage you to give your whole heart, your whole life, absolutely everything to the Lord. Be totally devoted to Him. Hold nothing back. Give Him your all. Know His love. Know His fellowship. Know Him. Follow Him with every single ounce of your heart. There is nothing richer, greater, more satisfying, more wonderful, more blessed, and fantastic than the Lord and being in His forever fellowship and being totally devoted to Him.
Be wholly His. Now. And forever. And enjoy this love. Because there is no other love like His. No love as great as His. And no more wondrous fellowship than the one we can have with Him when we turn from our sins, believe in Him as Lord and in His death and resurrection, and become wholehearted followers of the Lord Jesus Christ. Not halfhearted. Not lukewarm. Totally on fire for Christ.
Oh, how good is the Lord! How great is the Lord! How splendorous is the Lord! Follow Jesus, friend, surrender all, sacrifice all, be entirely His now and forever and ever, AMEN!
The Lord Jesus Christ is the love of my life. Now and forever. He is my absolute number one love.
Oh my beautiful Lord, create in each heart of every reader a desire and yearning and hunger and thirst and passion and devotion for you from the moment they read this devotional and forever they cannot even fathom. Let them come running to you, let them fall at your feet, let them turn from the past and even from the moment before, let them surrender all, let them be so vehemently and amazingly in love with you that their lives are forever changed by you, and that they experience and enjoy and rejoice in unfathomably blessed and blissful fellowship with you now and forever and ever, AMEN!
