“A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another. By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.”” John 13:34-35
“Therefore comfort each other and edify one another, just as you also are doing.” 1 Thess. 5:11
“Walk by Faith Ministry, this is Sister Love,” a dear friend of mine sometimes answers her phone. She is joking around because she serves the Lord through the ministry and knows my last name is Love. She calls me Sister Love, and, now a co-laborer in the ministry, feels she can laughingly answer the phone that way when she knows I’m the one calling. Sister Love 2, we call her. Sister Love 1, I am. All joking aside, there is a message in this.
We are sisters in Christ. We are sisters in Christ’s love. We love one another. And the Lord has not only blessed me with her, but with a very strong group of biblically sound, devoted Christ followers. We love each other, pray for each other, encourage one another, cry with each other, laugh with each other, share joys and sorrows with one another, get angry at each other, forgive each other, hurt one another, apologize and learn how not to hurt one another, give to one another, receive from one another, confront one another sometimes in love and sometimes not, repent before God and one another, help and support each other, and most importantly point each other to the Lord and to His Word. And some of us serve alongside one another in ministry work.
My sisters in Christ’s love, my love sisters one might call them, are far away from me now in miles since I’m out on the road full-time for the Lord and ministry, but so close in heart and just as here for me now as ever. They are here with me in heart. They surround me in heart. Like God’s angels, they are, as God’s army, fellow daughters in the Lord.
Friend, we were not meant to follow Jesus Christ as Lord by ourselves. We who follow Him are all part of God’s forever family, and we are to walk together, not by ourselves. The Bible is filled with examples of how God’s children are part of one family. His family. And of how we are to love one another.
If you are walking alone, walk alone no longer. Repent of your sins. Believe Jesus Christ is Lord and died on the cross to pay your sin penalty and was raised from the dead. Devote your life to God and His ways. Follow Jesus forevermore as you learn to live according to God’s ways and grow in His image. Live for Jesus Christ! Live for the Lord! And be a rock solid part of His everlasting family. We are brothers and sisters in the Lord. Let’s walk together. Let’s live together. Let’s rejoice together. Let’s serve God together! Let’s glorify God together! In His forever love, AMEN!
