The Truth About Trust

0

“Put your trust in me dear one,” the Holy Spirit spoke to my heart.

Why would God tell me this? I had believed in Jesus Christ as Lord for years. I am at long last totally devoted to Him. I am sold out for Jesus. I am on fire for Him. He is my first love and greatest priority. I live and breathe for Him. I long to fulfill my life’s calling for Him. So why would God tell me to put my trust in Him?

Here is the truth about trust. We are to trust God with ALL our hearts. And if we are honest with ourselves, we do not trust in God perfectly. We do not trust the Lord 100% with ALL our hearts in ALL matters and issues of our lives. We do NOT perfectly trust God with everything and everyone.

We ALWAYS have more growing to do in trusting God. We are on a faith journey. A trust journey. A following Jesus journey. A journey of ever needing to love, trust, obey, serve, and glorify God more as we grow in our relationship with the Lord.

We may put our trust in God with one thing but in another thing trust in ourselves or others instead of God. We may entrust someone we love to God but with other relationships we may not trust God at all. There is always growing to do when it comes to trust.

If trusting the Lord were a one-time event and never again would we need to put our trust in Him and grow in trust, why would God throughout the Bible teach us about and call us to trust Him? I believe His continual teaching and reminders in the Bible about putting our trust in Him are because He knows we need to grow in trusting in Him.

Friend, moment by moment, step by step, breath by breath, in every area of our lives, most especially in our hearts, we need to put our trust in the Lord.

Can you think of any area of your heart and life in which you are not trusting God? Cry out to God, and put your trust in Him!

Oh, Lord, help us all to trust you, dear Father! Help us to trust, AMEN! And when we are not trusting you, please, God, by your Holy Spirit, Lord, remind us to put our trust in you, oh Lord! Amen! Amen! Hallelujah, AMEN!

“Trust in the LORD with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.” Proverbs 3:5-6 NKJV

“And those who know Your name will put their trust in You; For You, LORD, have not forsaken those who seek You.” Psalms 9:10 NKJV

“Thus says the LORD: “Cursed is the man who trusts in man And makes flesh his strength, Whose heart departs from the LORD. For he shall be like a shrub in the desert, And shall not see when good comes, But shall inhabit the parched places in the wilderness, In a salt land which is not inhabited. “Blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD, And whose hope is the LORD. For he shall be like a tree planted by the waters, Which spreads out its roots by the river, And will not fear when heat comes; But its leaf will be green, And will not be anxious in the year of drought, Nor will cease from yielding fruit.” Jeremiah 17:5-8 NKJV
