The Woman with Curls

0

I was daydreaming one morning when suddenly I found myself thinking of the beautiful natural hair curls of a woman who had been in my life a little bit some years ago. It was a funny, and somewhat odd, thing to remember, I mused. But truth is we may remember all sorts of different things about people from the tiniest of details to the really big things, don’t we? This message isn’t about curls, mind you. It is about this.

When people you have met through the years look back at crossing paths with you whether you were in their lives for just minutes or for days, weeks, months, or years, no matter the context in which you crossed paths with them, what do you suppose would likely stand out most in their memory of you?

Would it be the Lord Jesus Christ, and your relationship with Him? And how you live for Him? And would it be how you convey the love of Jesus in all you think, say, and do? Is your life marked above all else by the Lord and His ways and His will for you? Is your life marked by love? And is all this what shines more than anything in your interactions with people?

The woman with curls is in fact a follower of Jesus, and from what I recall she was very loving. And yes, God blessed her with beautiful curls. But our outward appearance, our jobs, the quality of our cooking skills, whether we’re good at sports, where we go to church, what books we read, what cars we drive, etc., all of this is nothing compared with what matters most in what people see and know about us.

How does the world see us when it comes to Jesus and living in a godly manner including when it comes to love?

Hope this message inspires you to consider all this – and to resolve to be totally devoted to the Lord Jesus Christ and to reflecting God’s ways, God’s will, and His love to all!

Oh, Lord, thank you for this message. It makes me smile. It makes me inspired. To humble myself before you and continue to learn to walk in your ways. Oh, God, help me, and help us all, to please and honor you in all things, right down to our very thoughts, our words, and each and every action, and to be shining lights in the world around us – shining inside and out with your glorious love, oh Lord, AMEN! And, dear Father, give us the courage and boldness by your Holy Spirit not merely to show people your love but to tell them about you and how to have eternal life with you. And use us, precious Lord, to help people follow you humbly, faithfully, and devotedly even as we learn to do the same. AMEN!

“Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children; And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour.” Ephesians 5:1-2 KJV
