They Sacrificed Their Time

One night a friend sacrificed her time. She has a busy life despite being retired helping her elderly mother, watching over her grandchildren to help her daughter, along with lots of ministering to people. She was happily resting as she eagerly read a book when I called. She did not hesitate to spend a long time with me on the telephone when she learned I was struggling with something. Next morning, I got a call back from another friend I had reached out to in my struggle. She is a single mom who does loads of ministry work, has a new small business, and she was headed off on a major trip to Israel. She did not hesitate to spend a long time with me on the phone helping and encouraging me. They sacrificed their time, and herein lies the message.

This world is so unbelievably busy that it is not uncommon for people to be too busy to spend time in the presence of God reading the Bible and praising and worshiping Him and for people to be too busy to love, help, bless, encourage, pray for, and support each other and to aid people including most importantly in finding and following Jesus. Busy, busy, busy. So busy and consumed with our lives that sometimes we fail to sacrifice our time.

Sometimes we neglect to give up our time doing what we want to do and think we should do and others might expect us to do TO OBEY GOD’S GREATEST COMMANDS – TO LOVE HIM WITH ALL OUR HEARTS AND TO LOVE ONE ANOTHER. To do HIS WILL whatever that is and whatever sacrifice may be involved including the sacrifice of what we think of us as OUR TIME when in fact it is THE TIME GOD GIVES US.

Is God speaking to your heart through this message? Please cry out to God and see how He moves on your heart. Perhaps you need to make some changes. Perhaps you need to make a greater sacrifice with your heart and time. I trust the Lord will lead and guide you in this just as He does the same with me on an ongoing basis.

We are to yield up to God on an ongoing basis our hearts and lives our time included as we seek Him and His will for us day by day and forevermore!

Oh, cry out to the Lord on this, AMEN!

“I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service.” Romans 12:1 NKJV
