If you look at me, I am quite sure you would say this body I have is Lara Love’s body. But I have finally discovered the truth. It is NOT my body. Nor is your body your body. Even if we act like our bodies are our bodies, truly they are not. They belong to God, and we should treat them as they do. In a manner that is honoring, pleasing, and glorifying to God. And when we do not treat our bodies right, we need to repent and make any and all necessary changes to please God.
Here is the truth. God created us. God made our bodies. God put breath in our bodies. God entrusted us with our bodies. And Jesus His only Son died on the cross and was raised from the dead so all who believe in Jesus and in His death and resurrection and sincerely turn from their sins to God and His ways are forgiven, given a forever relationship with God, and the Holy Spirit comes to live in us. Which means Jesus bought us with the blood He shed on the cross. So our bodies belong to the Lord.
Now sure, we refer to them as our bodies. I refer to my body as my body. You refer to your body as your body. But God has entrusted them to us, and HE is the true owner of them.
For decades even for years as a believer in Jesus I treated and used my body in ways that deeply and dearly hurt God’s heart. Praise the Lord in His love, kindness, patience, and mercy with me, He by His Holy Spirit gave me a deep revelation of the truth about His ownership of my body. And in my exceeding love for the Lord, and my insatiable desire to please, honor, and glorify Him, at long last I am learning to care for and use my body as though the true owner is God. Because He is.
Please, friend, seek God’s forgiveness for any way in which you have not been taking good and God-pleasing care of the body He has given you and have not been using it in God-honoring, God-glorifying ways. And with your heart, words, and actions, your body included, strive each and every day to bring love, joy, pleasure, honor, reverence, and glory to God almighty, AMEN!

And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.” Romans 12:1-2 NKJV
