“This is your gift. Others have theirs.”
I had just finished writing a devotional message when the Holy Spirit spoke these words to my heart. Reassuring me. Reminding me. Confirming once again I have my gifts and calling from God. Not others’ gifts and their calling from God. But mine.
Sometimes we get down, discouraged, depressed, etc. because we compare ourselves to others and feel we are failing because our lives don’t look like their lives. Because we are not serving God and others like they are.
But friend, we were never meant to! We are to seek and follow God and use the gifts and fulfill the calling He has lovingly and blessedly given us not others!
When we stand before the Lord and give an account of our lives, we will be responsible for our gifts and calling not other people’s!
Let us get our focus off others’ gifts and calling and onto God and His will for us!
Will you cry out to God to help you with this? Oh, pray, pray, pray! Amen!
“So then each of us shall give account of himself to God.” Romans 14:12 NKJV
“Therefore we make it our aim, whether present or absent, to be well pleasing to Him. For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive the things done in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad.” 2 Corinthians 5:9-10 NKJV
