“And again He entered Capernaum after some days, and it was heard that He was in the house. Immediately many gathered together, so that there was no longer room to receive them, not even near the door. And He preached the word to them. Then they came to Him, bringing a paralytic who was carried by four men. And when they could not come near Him because of the crowd, they uncovered the roof where He was. So when they had broken through, they let down the bed on which the paralytic was lying. When Jesus saw their faith, He said to the paralytic, “Son, your sins are forgiven you.”…He said to the paralytic, “I say to you, arise, take up your bed, and go to your house.” Immediately he arose, took up the bed, and went out in the presence of them all, so that all were amazed and glorified God, saying, “We never saw anything like this!”………………..
Do you see how the paralytic got to Jesus for healing in the story above? A small group of men had such faith Jesus was the answer for this man that they lifted him through the roof. The Lord calls us first and foremost to walk through our lives and forever in His magnificent company, but He also graces us with others who follow Him to walk alongside us. He lovingly and graciously gives His followers fellow followers, so that we all in essence follow Him together. We’re all in His company together. Though we may not necessarily lift each other by faith through a physical roof to get to Jesus, we can lift each other up by loving one another, encouraging and praying for one another, helping and supporting each other, sharing with each other, fellowshipping with one another, studying the Bible and worshiping God together, helping one another to live by God’s Word, crying and laughing together, enjoying one another’s company, most of all loving and experiencing and glorifying God together. How thankful we can and should be that God blesses us who follow Him with our fellow sheep to by faith and in Christ’s love lift one another through the roof, so to speak, to be with Jesus!
