Wake Up

“Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.” Mt. 7:21 ESV

“Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life; whoever does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God remains on him.” John 3:36 ESV

“And the world is passing away along with its desires, but whoever does the will of God abides forever.” 1 John 2:17 ESV

“You see that a person is justified by works and not by faith alone.” James 2:24 ESV

Some wake-up calls come from alarm clocks. Some wake-up calls come from hotel clerks calling us in our hotel rooms at the time we desire. We don’t want to miss our meetings and appointments, do we? But there is no wake-up call like the one that comes from the Spirit of God through the Word of God – the wake-up call that keeps us from missing forever with Him. The wake-up call that keeps us from spending forever apart from Him in eternal torment in hell and the lake of fire. Please don’t hit the snooze button. Please don’t ignore the call of God. Because there will come a time, whether in years to come, whether in the next moment, whenever, when it will be too late. Too late to hear the call. Too late to hear the warning. Too late to respond. Too late to make a decision about where you will spend eternity. Too late to decide with whom you will spend eternity. Too late to decide how and with whom you will spend the rest of your life on this earth. Will you spend today and forever with God? Or not?

Please read the scriptures above – carefully. If you have been deceived into believing all you need to do to get a ticket to heaven is intellectually believe that Jesus Christ is Lord, say a heartfelt prayer asking Him into your heart, and trollop off to live the rest of your life the way you’ve been living it all along, you are in for a terrible surprise. A devastating one in fact. A hellish one to be most precise. Everywhere I go, I meet people who have been taught and believe based on a few verses in the Bible that a mere belief in Christ as Lord secures a place in heaven. The verses are taken out of the context of the entire Bible, and people don’t take the time to study the entire Bible, daily, and to live what the Bible teaches, and to understand God’s Truth.

A forever relationship with God instead of forever in hell and the lake of fire and a life devoid of Him on earth is for those whose faith in Christ as Lord and Savior is demonstrated by a total love, commitment, devotedness, obedience, and dedication to Him as Lord of all. Forever!
