Warning About Prayer

If you had children who constantly called out to you and asked you and even begged you for stuff they needed and wanted but wanted to have absolutely nothing to do with you other than to get stuff from you, showed no love toward you, didn’t respect you, didn’t honor you, had no desire to have a relationship with you, could care less about spending any time with you, didn’t look up to you, didn’t appreciate and adore you, just ran to you to get stuff and quickly ran away with nothing more than perhaps a quick “thank you” every once in a while at best, how would you feel? What would you think? What would you do? Now please consider this:

“My people are bent on backsliding from Me. Though they call to the Most High, None at all exalt Him. “ Hosea 11:7

Here is mention of the people from long ago written about in the Old Testament calling out to God but living according to their sinful ways with their backs turned on God. Seems they were not loving, exalting, lifting up, honoring, revering, adoring, fearing, living for, glorifying the Lord. Seems they were calling out to Him. Crying out to Him. Praying. But with their hearts and lives turned away from Him and His ways and His will for them.

This message isn’t about them. It’s about us. Are we doing the same thing? Are we calling out to, crying out to, and praying to God to get our needs and wants met but living for ourselves according to the ways of this world with our backs turned on God, the Bible, His ways, and His will for our lives?

I did this for years! But God in His love and mercy led me to repentance and has since by His Spirit through His Word with the help of His followers been teaching me how to pray AND TO LIVE THE WAY WE WERE CREATED TO LIVE. FOR THE LORD. ACCORDING TO THE WAYS OF THE LORD AS HE TEACHES US IN THE BIBLE. AND ACCORDING TO HIS INDIVIDUAL WILL FOR OUR LIVES. IN LOVE FOR AND OBEDIENCE TO HIM! FOR HIS GLORY! Hallelujah, AMEN!

This is a WARNING. Don’t pray with your back turned on the Lord, His Holy Spirit, the Bible, and His ways and will for your life. By all means, pray, pray, pray to the Lord! But do so living humbly and wholly for the Lord Jesus Christ, AMEN!
