What God Loves

If we truly love Jesus which we are commanded to do with all our hearts and which we will surely yearn, hunger, and thirst to do once we come to believe in Him and trust in Him and spend time with Him and in His Word and come to know Him personally and intimately, most assuredly we should deeply desire to know what God loves. But why? And how? And what will be the result of all this?

When we dearly, fervently, and passionately love someone, isn’t it true we want to know what that person loves so we can love and bless and give to them and please them and bring joy to them concerning what it is they love simply borne out of our very great love for that person? Oh, but there is nobody we should dearly, fervently, and passionately and preciously love more than Jesus Lord of Lords King of Kings Savior of the world! So it is there is nobody we should desire more to please than the Lord! Oh, but we must know then what the Lord loves!

How can we know what the Lord loves? God not only makes known in His Word what He hates so we don’t sin against Him. He also makes known what He loves by revealing to us His character, His doings, His ways, His will, what He loves, what He desires, what He asks of us and commands us to do! He also speaks to our hearts personally by His Spirit who lives within His followers what He calls each of us individually to do in order to bring Him love, pleasure, joy, honor, praise, worship, and glory! When we spend time in His presence, when we read the Bible, when we pray and listen, we learn what God loves!

The result of all this? If we truly love the Lord with all our hearts, we will make it such a very great aspiration, the highest of all priorities in fact, the Lord, a forever relationship with Him, and the striving to love, worship, serve, adore, revere, honor, praise, and glorify the Lord God almighty now and forever, AMEN!

Spend time alone with Jesus regularly, friend. Open your heart. Open your Bible. Open your mouth and speak and sing forth praises to His holy name. Pray to Him. Seek Him. Listen for the voice of His Holy Spirit. Hear Him. Obey Him. Love, worship and glorify Him. Sit at the feet of Jesus and fall in love with Him. Learn about Him. Learn from Him. Learn what pleases and delights Him. And devote yourself utterly to the Lord, to His will and ways, to know what He loves, and to expressing your love for Him and to Him everlastingly! Oh, hallelujah, yes!

Oh dear God, dear Lord, dear Father, dear King, dear Savior, dear healer, dear redeemer, dear friend, dear counselor, dear helper, dear comforter, dear master, dear Creator, dear deliverer, dear restorer, dear almighty one true God, help us to love and worship and glorify you forever. Teach us what you love. Teach us your will and your ways. Enable us to please you in our love for you. Empower us to bring you honor, glory, and praise each and every moment of our lives on this earth and forever, and ever, oh Lord, AMEN!
