What You Have to Give!

5
When you believe you have nothing to give, you probably have a lot more than you realize. I believe we are so influenced by the world to believe that giving requires money and material provision that we overlook what the Lord has laid in our hearts and our lives to sow His love into a world in dire need. I have felt so insignificant over the past few months as my life undergoes incredible transformation coupled with major loss that most of the time I succumbed to the devil’s lies and started to doubt my purpose and significance. But the Lord has reminded me in powerful, obvious ways that I have much more to give than I can possibly imagine. As I shut my human eyes and look with my spiritual eyes, I see all the possibilities – for me, and for you.

1. I have eternal life through faith in Jesus Christ and can share Him with the world.
2. I have a phenomenally intimate, personal relationship with Jesus that much of the world – even fellow followers of Christ – do not realize they can have. I can share with the world.
3. The Lord has done such a mighty work in my heart that I have more compassion, tenderness, mercy, forgiveness, kindness, and so much more than I have ever possessed to share with all.
4. I know how to speak words of encouragement, and I have seen people light up as I speak life into their lives.
5. I have a smile that makes people happy when I show God’s love with it.
6. I have the ability to see need even when people do not express their needs because of my extreme sensitivity the Lord has given me.
7. I am gifted in writing such that the Lord can pour His love and inspiration and encouragement through this gift to touch and transform lives.
8. I have time to help people even with the most seemingly insignificant things, like walking an elderly person across the parking lot in extreme heat.
9. I study the Word of God and love to teach it to others, even in a short conversation with a stranger or friend.
10. I have experienced so much pain and loss, so many trials and tribulations, so many addictions, so much sin and so many changes, so many miracles that the Lord can use my heart and my story to teach others of His love and His supernatural power.
11. I have lots of experience and knowledge about abused and neglected dogs, and there are millions of dogs nationwide in need of care. The Lord has for years used homeless dogs to bring me to people in need, and people to bring me to dogs in need.

As I write, I realize the list of what I have to give is far bigger than I could possibly have imagined. It is my choice to believe the devil’s lies that I have no worth or to believe God’s truth that He created me for a purpose and that I am full of ways to give so long as I am willing.

How about you? When was the last time you reflected on what you have to give? Why not spend some time with the Lord thinking about what He has given you to sow into a world in need?

Please give. The rewards are without measure.
