When God Already Answered

0

I was seeking the Lord one early morning about something when He reminded me He had ALREADY ANSWERED! He had ALREADY TOLD ME WHAT TO DO! But there I was desperately seeking Him to give me instructions! He had already spoken to my heart by His Spirit who always and only speaks in line with the Bible. I had been clear about the instructions in His answer to my seeking Him. But instead of trusting Him, receiving His instructions, and simply going ahead and following Him, I was seeking Him like He had never spoken! Like I needed answers He hadn’t given me! Even though He most certainly had!

Sometimes we don’t like the directions the Lord has given us so we go back to Him for directions figuring He’ll give us a different and more palatable and comfortable answer rather than obeying Him regarding what He has revealed to us. Sometimes we overlook that He has in fact answered our prayers and told us what to do. Sometimes we don’t recognize He has spoken to our hearts because we’re too busy in our everyday lives and neglecting to take time each day alone with Him and the Bible including listening for the voice of His Holy Spirit or we simply don’t know how to hear Him. Whatever the reason, sometimes we find ourselves seeking the Lord for answers when He has already answered our cries.

Let us keep our hearts, minds, and eyes open to the voice of the Lord as He speaks to us through the Bible and as He speaks personally to our hearts by His Holy Spirit in line with the Bible. Let us not miss His will for us as He reveals it to us. Let us humble ourselves and obey Him. For the glory of Christ, AMEN!

Friend, seek the Lord. Listen for the Lord. Hear the Lord. Obey the Lord. And don’t rule out that God may have already answered. Make sure you take time away from the noise and chaos and drama and busyness of this world and spend time alone in His presence with the Bible and an open heart and ears. And seek godly counsel from believers in Christ strongly grounded in the Bible if and as the Lord leads you to help you discern God’s voice. Hear the Lord, yes, and obey!

Father, thank you that you love your children so much that you speak to us through the Bible and by your Spirit and even through others always of course in line with the Bible. Lord, when you have already answered and for whatever reason we are overlooking this, please speak to our hearts and bring to light what you have already revealed to us in the way of your will for us and help us in your love, mercy, and strength to obey! Thank you, Lord, AMEN!

“If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.” James 1:5-8

“Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth.” John 17:17
