When God Doesn’t Answer

0

Even as I write this I have been crying out to God for what seems to me anyway for so very long for His directions in a certain exceedingly important matter only to find the Lord not answering with the detailed plan I so believe He should give me. He tells us in the Bible He will give wisdom to those who ask in faith, so why isn’t He answering? I find myself frustrated, impatient, self-pitying, hurt, sometimes even angry. Oh, God, don’t you care about me? Doesn’t this matter to you? How can you expect me to obey you if you don’t tell me? If you don’t answer my cries? Thoughts like these. Sin, sin, sin. Sin in my heart I need to keep getting rid of when I find it there. Then back to the praying, praying, praying. Oh, God, why won’t you answer?

Do you ever feel this way? Can you relate? Do you need some encouragement?

Friend, I cannot tell you exactly why God is not answering you if you are crying out to Him. For me, in this case, I believe He is wanting me to trust in Him and not in the detailed directions and plans I am crying out to Him to give me. He wants me to live by faith in Him. He is testing me. He is growing me. He is teaching me. He is drawing me closer to Himself as I continue to cry out to Him. Perhaps He is doing the same with you, or perhaps He has another purpose in not answering you. Yet. And here is the word with which I want to encourage you.

YET. God WILL give wisdom to His children when we seek Him IN FAITH. But God does NOT promise us He will answer us in OUR time. He will answer us in HIS TIME. And we will either humble ourselves and continue to cry out to Him and wait for Him to answer and lovingly devotedly obey Him when He gives us His directions. Or we will give up and go the way of our flesh and live according to the world’s ways and bow down to the devil with our backs turned to God – and suffer the awful consequences of living this way.

Please, friend, continue to cry out to the Lord until He answers. Trust He will answer according to His will in His time. And that He has a purpose regarding His will and His timing. Trust in the Lord, friend. Trust. And love Him with all your heart, offering Him praise and thanksgiving – all along the way!

And, WHEN God answers, with all my heart I encourage you, humble yourself and OBEY HIM!

“If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.” James 1:5-8 NKJV

“Whoever offers praise glorifies Me;…” Psalms 50:23 NKJV
