When GOD Opens a BIG DOOR

0
When God opens a big door, you better believe it. The devil may be none too pleased. Understatement of the year? Probably. So best not to skip through the doorway naked. If you plan to show up, suit up. Remember the “full armor of God”. Don’t leave home without it. Or, as my beloved pastor once told me, if you’re in a major war, why would you even take your armor off? Don’t put your armor on every morning for a new day, he taught me. Keep it on! For one thing to be said about God opening doors is that the devil can work up some serious steam in a desperate attempt to shut the door before you walk through – or to drag you back through backwards to keep you from going forward where the Lord is calling you. I speak from experience.

In fact, God just opened a big door in my life. I am well versed in realizing that the devil likes to start his heaviest attacks on me right BEFORE new doors open, right BEFORE I take big steps forward, and right BEFORE I make headway in the Lord’s plan and purpose for my life. What better way to stop me than to impede me with his heavy artillery before I even get started – or right as I take my first few giant steps to advance with the Lord.

Best way to handle going through big doors God opens? Slam them in the devil’s face as you seek the Lord’s face and follow His instructions, keep on the full armor of God, and use the weapons of warfare. The devil is known not to go down without a fight, but God the perfect gentleman doesn’t just open doors for us. He equips us to walk through them to the other side, to follow in His footsteps, to rest in His love, safety, and refuge, and to take us to new places for new assignments for opportunities to love Him, to worship Him, to serve Him, and to glorify His name.

Shut the door in the enemy’s face. And answer God’s call!

“(For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) 5Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ; 6And having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled.” 2 Cor. 10: 4-6 KJV

10Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of His might. 11Put on the full armor of God, so that you will be able to stand firm against the schemes of the devil. 12For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places. 13Therefore, take up the full armor of God, so that you will be able to resist in the evil day, and having done everything, to stand firm. 14Stand firm therefore, HAVING GIRDED YOUR LOINS WITH TRUTH, and HAVING PUT ON THE BREASTPLATE OF RIGHTEOUSNESS15and having shod YOUR FEET WITH THE PREPARATION OF THE GOSPEL OF PEACE16in addition to all, taking up the shield of faith with which you will be able to extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17And take THE HELMET OF SALVATION, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.” Ephesians 6:10-18 NASB
