When Mothers Don’t Protect Their Children

What an unfathomable tragedy it is when mothers don’t protect children from the neglect, mistreatment, and abuse by their husbands (or other men in their lives). When they look the other way and pretend it’s not happening. When they deny what is happening when the children come to them for help. When the children are adults and they keep on denying what transpired. When they don’t confront their husbands and the situations and provide protection and help and healing and safety for their children.

When their children come to them then or years later to talk about what happened and the mothers still won’t acknowledge what occurred and won’t show love, care, kindness, and compassion and help their children to heal. When they put themselves and what they desire for their own gratification before the care and well-being of their children.

If you are a mother who is not protecting your children or who did not protect them long ago, I beg you with all my heart to seek the forgiveness of God almighty, to apologize with all your heart to your children, and to go to any lengths as the Lord leads you to give to your children what they need to be loved, cared for, healed, safe, and protected.

For the sake of the Lord Jesus Christ, yes, for Christ’s sake, and for the sake of your children, please don’t look the other way. Do what is right in the sight of God. And what is right for the children with whom He entrusted you.

If you are currently with a man who is harming your children in any way, please pray to God, please get help from police, first responders, professionals, from a church, from believers in Jesus who will pray for you, from absolutely anyone and everyone needed to help you provide for your children what they need. And for yourself! Please!

Do whatever is necessary according to the will of God to keep your children safe. And if they are already adults do whatever God leads you to do to help them heal.

The scars of a child neglected, mistreated, or abused by a father can last for a lifetime. So can the damage done by a mother who neglected to provide what the children needed to be loved and safe.

Please, please, please cry out to God in prayer and get help and make any and all necessary changes before any more time passes! Amen!

“If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” 1 John 1:9 NKJV
