Know when to say NO to something or someone? If you think I’m about to share with you about setting “boundaries” as the world and psychology teach us to do, I’m not. If you think I’m going to tell you that you should say NO whenever saying NO would benefit your SELF, and your needs and wants, you’re wrong. What I am compelled to share with you is this. The time to say NO to any person, place, thing, opportunity, offer, choice, pathway, endeavor, temptation, possibility, etc., is when GOD SAYS SO!
Forever in heaven, instead of forever in hell and the lake of fire, and an everlasting relationship with God instead of forever without Him, is for those who TURN from our sins, believe in Jesus Christ as Lord and in His death and resurrection, TURN to God and His ways, receive His forgiveness, the promise of forever with Him, and the indwelling of His Holy Spirit. For those who LIVE FOR JESUS and NO LONGER LIVE FOR SELF. Who TURN from living for SELF to living for GOD. Who TURN from living according to the world’s ways to living according to the Bible. When to say NO is not about pleasing, gratifying, serving, and loving SELF. We are to DENY SELF, TAKE UP OUR CROSSES, and FOLLOW JESUS.
So the time to say NO is when God tells us to say NO. Because we are to live to PLEASE AND HONOR AND SERVE AND SATISFY AND BLESS AND OBEY AND GLORIFY GOD!
Wondering whether you’re supposed to say YES or NO to something or someone? Don’t make a decision based on your flesh. Don’t decide based on your feelings. Don’t decide based on your thoughts and opinion. Don’t decide based on what others think or feel. PRAY TO GOD, SEEK GOD, READ THE BIBLE, SEEK GODLY COUNSEL IF YOU NEED IT, WAIT ON GOD, HEAR GOD, AND OBEY GOD. FOR THE GLORY OF GOD, AMEN!
God, please dear Lord, teach us all to hear your voice. Teach us to discern the wisdom you give us. Please give us wisdom. Let us know when to say YES and when to say NO. Please don’t let us go down the wrong pathway. And for those of us who already have, please bring correction. Have mercy upon us. Lead us to you, oh Lord, and to your Word. What is your desire? What do you want? What will bless you, dear God? Help us not to be selfish. Help us not to make self-centered decisions. Help us to make decisions based on your will, oh Lord. For those of us who need to say NO to someone or something, please, oh Lord, give us willingness, and give us strength, and give us love and mercy as we say NO. Oh, God, lead us down the right pathway. Yours, oh Lord. Forever and ever, AMEN!
