When You Don’t Want to Obey God

0

Just moments before writing this message I was telling God I didn’t want to do two things He had made clear He wanted me to do. Ever not wanted to do what God made clear He wanted you to do? Are you in that position right now?

We have a choice. We can humble ourselves and obey the Lord. Or not. There is only one right response to when God makes known His will to us. Obedience.

And there are two beautiful truths when it comes to obedience with which I am led to encourage you.

First, when we cry out to God in prayer, He will give us all we need to obey Him including His love, strength, comfort, wisdom, encouragement, endurance, and any and all provision needed.

Second, there is an exceeding intimacy and closeness and fellowship with the Lord Jesus Christ and resulting joy to be found, experienced, and enjoyed when we are living in loving, humble obedience to the Lord.

The most powerful act of total surrender and obedience and the most magnificent example of intimacy with God the Father in heaven ever occurred just before Jesus Son of God went to the cross to die for the sins of all of humanity.

“He went a little farther and fell on His face, and prayed, saying, “O My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from Me; nevertheless, not as I will, but as You will.”” Matthew 26:39 NKJV

When you don’t want to obey God, pray, pray, pray!

Cry out to God for all you need to live in obedience to Him!

Pray and obey! Amen!
